We all love watching animation movies, but did it ever occur to you that someone in another country may not be watching the same thing. That’s right, animated movies adapted for different countries are a common affair to suit a different geographical audience. Here are some popular movie scenes which were adapted for different countries.
Directors of ‘’Inside out’’ didn’t think it appropriate to show Riley refusing to eat broccoli for its Japanese audience as the Japanese love their veggies. They replaced broccoli with green peppers instead.

Again in the football scene where Riley’s dad is going through the experience of watching a hockey game in his mind, the international version replaces the game with soccer.

In this scene Bing Bong spells out the word “danger’ by moving his trunk left to right shaping the alphabet. In the international versions where some text is written right to left he is seen moving his trunk in the opposite direction.

Among animated movies adapted for different countries, in the American version of Monsters University, Randal bakes cupcakes which are decorated with letters that spell out “my pal’. However in the international version there are smileys instead.

Mike accidentally bumps into Randall when riding Archie the Scare Pig. The cupcakes then spill on his face forming the word “LAME”. The meaning was lost in translation and so directors replaced it with smiley faces.

In the bottle scene, the piece of paper in the bottle that says “Paradise Falls” but in the international version it is changed to a picture of a waterfall.

In part 2, when Buzz Lightyear makes an inspiring speech to look for Woody, he is seen standing in front on the American flag which flies to the national anthem. The international version shows him in front of a globe where the music is changed to the “One World Anthem”.

Rochelle a Canadian is the original heroine of the Planes movie but Rochelle has 11 variations according to the country which the movie was screened in Such as Carolina in Brazil, Tanya in Russia and Heidi for Germany.

In the US version, Racer Minty Zaki was named after a well known animator in Japan, Hayao Miyazi. In the Japanese version, she is given an entire makeover with the name Minty Sakura.
In the most ambitious character of animated movies adapted for different countries, the news anchor in Zootopia was portrayed differently in various countries. North America, France and Canada had a moose while Japan had a racoon dog, Australia and New Zealand a Koala and China a panda. UK had a corgi while Brazil had a jaguar.
