There’s always going to be embarrassing moments in your life because that’s just how it is. We’re not perfect, and we do stupid things all the time. But back in the old days, when you did something stupid, the only proof you had was a mental picture.
Even if someone around you had a camera, they still needed to develop that picture before embarrassing you. But even if they did, they still couldn’t share that painful image with millions of people.
But things are different now. If you get drunk and do something stupid tonight and someone captures that on camera, you’ll be famous tomorrow.
That my friend is the internet. Or social media to be more specific. You only need few seconds to take a picture with your phone (or a video), upload it and make it available for millions of people.
The first thing you need to know is that Snapchat is not Instagram and Snapchat is not Facebook either. It was, in some way, developed for sharing embarrassing moments…and private stuff from your body. But technology is not perfect, and just when you thought that your snap will be deleted, someone will take a print-screen and that’s when things go bad.
