Conspiracy theory!! How often have we seen the word spread across the internet? Every issue, every world crisis has somehow given rise to the conspiracy angle. As a term, it has been used arbitrarily to discredit organizations and individuals without any thought for reality but!! Not always are conspiracy theories contradictory in nature because sometimes they end up being actually true. Here are 7 conspiracy theories proven true in 2017.
This is a huge shot in the arm for conspiracy theorists who more often than not turn out to be the butt of jokes everywhere. However, 2017 uncovered several facts proving what was suspected was true all along. Such issues turned out fact in the very eyes of the public.
Speculation was ripe that it was the US who funded and even aided ISIS fighters. In November a BBC report dropped a huge bombshell confirming the suspicions of how the US and even the UK were assisting ISIS fighters to escape. The BBC reported
“The BBC has uncovered details of a secret deal that let hundreds of Islamic State fighters and their families escape from Raqqa, under the gaze of the US and British-led coalition and Kurdish-led forces who control the city”. The report detailed how a convoy consisting of some of IS’s most hardened and notorious fighters escaped spreading out across Syria and even as far as Turkey.
This isn’t surprising given the fact that it was the US who had also played a role in the making of the Taliban during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan.

This turned out to be the biggest scandal of 2017 when reports uncovered how some of Hollywood bigwigs were habituated in soliciting physical favors and physically exploiting wannabe actresses. Even children in the entertainment industry were not spared. What let the cat out of the bag was Movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein being accused by innumerous Hollywood actresses of physical molestation. Some of these included big names like Kate Beckinsale, Lysette Anthony and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The accusations created a domino effect and more and more women came out of the closet bringing down big names in the entertainment industry, politics, and business. It was the biggest scandal of 2017 leading to the #Me Too movement against physical exploitation of women worldwide. Internet sleuths used social media platforms like Reddit to expose the elite of Hollywood and the government and their involvement with physical exploitation and pedophile rings.

Also known as geoengineering it has now become a fact and common knowledge. The US House subcommittee on Energy and subcommittee on Environment hearing in November even openly showed how representatives were engaging in public discussion on the subject of climate engineering in the future.
The hearing called “Geoengineering: Innovation, Research, and Technology”, was proof enough of the US governments plan to start geoengineering. Various Aircraft would be used to spray chemicals into the sky. This was also admitted by former CIA chief John Brennan. The public now know for a fact that the government is using aircraft and weather balloons to spray the sky with harmful chemicals. In their defence, officials say that such practices are necessary to combat global warming.

Declassified documents now prove how the CIA was instrumental in the 1953 Iranian coup. The declassified files which were titled “Foreign Relations of the United States, 1952-1954, Iran, 1951–1954,” now provide a different version of the historical events compared to what was originally released by the state department.
The documents revealed:
“A memorandum from Director of Central Intelligence Allen Dulles to President Eisenhower, dated March 1, 1953, serves as a reminder that internally, ‘the elimination of Mossadeq by assassination or otherwise,’ was used as a method in repairing ties with Iran, restoring oil negotiations, and stopping a “Communist takeover”.
Alongside the epidemic of cancer, a parallel industry steadily grew that was dedicated to combating it. But! Along the way the true vision of a cure for cancer gave way to companies focusing more on profits rather than treatments.
The Free Thought Project reported how research in Iowa University found that ascorbate derived from Vitamin C could increase hydrogen peroxide levels in cancer cells inducing a toxic result on them and killing them. Cancer cells were killed while good cells remained untouched and intact. The research made the conclusion that vitamin C indeed had the power to fight certain cancers.
This is one notion that Billion dollar companies of the pharmaceutical industry would not have you believe that Nature can provide us natural ingredients with properties to cure many illnesses in various ways.

Among the conspiracy theories proven true in 2017, this too was a conspiracy belief although not many even gave it a second thought. The History Channel series titled “America’s war on drugs” portrayed how in its bid to fight communism, the CIA partnered with drug traffickers granting them access into the country in exchange for their political support which they believed was for the purpose of national security and combat national threats.

Thought to be a controversy but now very true because classified documents uncovered back in August 2017 have proved how federal agencies used “fraudulent safety testing” so that chemicals by companies like Dow, Monsanto and others could be approved and marketed to the public.

“The Poison Papers reveal that, instead of acting to protect the public and reassess the chemicals, EPA held a secret meeting with chemical companies to assure them that their products would continue being sold.”
The report went on to say that the secret meetings between the EPA and big companies are the worst and biggest example of how human and environmental health has been suffering at the hands of such collusions in history.
