The parents who are expecting a child always be in the worry that if their child is going to be alright or not. They are usually very worried about well-being of the newborn baby. And, it is always a worst kind of nightmare when doctors inform that the baby is suffering from birth defects. It is definitely a terrible news for the parents of the child. But, once the parents are informed that the child will struggle to live a healthy life, they need to find their composure and be brave to come out of the situation.
Suha Dabit is a photographer who gave birth to a child recently. She gave birth to a child with a name Nadia. The child was suffering from Congenital Heart Disease when she was given birth. Suha was very worried initially and the whole experience made her realize that what it was like to see the child struggling for life.

Suha successfully coped from the worrisome situation. She did it with all the kinds of courage and composure. After getting through, she shared her strength to all the mothers around the world.

“After five and a half months of waiting, we received the call. They found a perfect match, a whole, four ventricle heart, her lifesaving gift, a new chance at life,” Suha writes to Love What Matters. “After nearly six months of waiting and praying, we were able to bring Nadia home again. This is why I became a photographer.”

No doubt, Suha has gone through some of the most difficult times. Now, she is doing all her bit towards supporting the other parents to get through difficult times like these. She also said that it was extremely difficult to pass through the times when you know that the child is struggling to live in this world.

Suha said that she used her photography skills to get through the difficult times. “I wanted other families to have portraits they could hold on to and cherish forever,” the photographer explains.

Though Suha’s work may be very rewarding, but it would certainly not be easy to face this kind of difficult situation. Suha said that almost 1 in every 100 newborns are having the congenital heart defect every year.

Suha said that some of the babies can recover from such kind of situation with the help of modern medicine and generous organ donors. On the other hand, she has also seen many babies losing the battles.

There was one incident when Suha was emotionally devastated. She witnessed a parents Kristi and Justin watching their baby die in front of them. Suha empathized a lot with them. She wanted to share the story to the world. She always wanted to create awareness for Congenital Heart Disease with a message.

“I could tell you that Adalynn is one of the 20 people that die every day waiting for a transplant. Or, I could tell you about my perspective of what it was like being in that room to document their last moments together as a family of six. But there aren’t any words to describe the pain and love I witnessed.”

Suha paid tributes to the baby girl with a semblance of hope. “Fly high baby girl,” she told the dearly departed infant. “You fought so hard and touched so many lives.”
