Every signature tells its own story. By a mere look at it, you can tell what someone's personality is like. And however odd it may sound, it really does make a difference how you write the letters of your name.

Do you want to know if someone's honest, confident, emotionally stable? Do you want to know their social skills or ability to set their own goals?

Then don't worry because the signature tells it all. Bear with us as we further explore the 6 common kinds of signatures and their meanings.

1 Large Signature

The size of the letters in one's signature reveals how much they want to be noticed. A larger signature shows an author's courage and confidence. If the letters in a signature are much larger than in handwriting itself it reveals a desire to be seen and heard everywhere.

However, this kind of signature can still be interpreted as the evidence that the author, in fact, feels small on the inside and he is trying to mask his insecurities with a larger size of his letters in the signature.

2 Underlined signature

People rarely underline their signatures, but when they do, they are expressing a healthy self-esteem and general positive image of themselves. They are often satisfied with what they do and what they have become.

When underlined with two lines the signature reveals the author to be strong, decisive and ambitious. He thinks he deserves only the best and he acts like it.

As for the style, the more beautiful the underline is, it is more likely for the author to always seek for attention. He always wants to be seen, and if he isn't, he will do anything in his power to make it happen.

On the other hand, long and separated lines under the signature are representing people who doubt in their importance, but they will make an effort to have a certain influence in public.

Wavy lines are often seen in women's signatures which represent a fun and easy-going personality.

Sometimes the line goes through the signature itself. It is a characteristic of people who are angry and tensed at the moment of writing their signatures. And sometimes that line covers only the part of the signature - if it is a name, the person is frustrated with himself. And if it covers the surname, it represents an anger towards the family.

You will rarely see the line that goes all the way through signature. But if you do, that means the person is very unhappy and depressed.

3 I-dot Signature

These creative dots will be made by those who want to look different than others.

A small dash instead of a dot reveals the restless spirit, but it also can show that the author is in a hurry.

Also if the person ignores the dot it means that he doesn't pay attention to the details in his life and he is having a hard time following them.

Long line instead of the dot reveals a creative and intelligent person, while the dot placed high above the letter reveals highly ambitious nature.

4 When signature is different than a handwriting

If the signature is completely different than handwriting itself, we can assume the author wants to hide a part of his personality. So he assumes different identity through his signature.

And if the signature matches the handwriting in size, a slope of the letters, the pen pressure and style, that means the author doesn't have anything to hide from the public. And that he behaves exactly the same in public as he does in private.

5 The Unreadable Signature

The author of the unreadable signature wants to be sure in what he writes, but would rather not talk about himself. But it can also mean that he isn't considered with you understanding the message, and thinks he is the one who is the most important.

There are cases in which both the signature and handwriting are unreadable. So it stands the reason that the people who write like that don't want to communicate with others and they don't let the others know them better.

But, on the other hand, it can also be just a phase of someone who is going through the rough time in life.

6 The Upward Stroke

This kind of a signature reveals an energetic, enthusiastic people who have a positive opinion about themselves.

And on the other hand, the downward stroke reveals the sorrow and disappointment.

In conclusion, whatever this text revealed about yourself and your close ones through the signatures, bear in mind that our signatures can be changed over the years, and their appearance depends on the events we are exposed to.

But you can be sure that it reveals your inner desires and thoughts which float around your head.
