Ava was diagnosed with gastroschisis after doctors discovered anomalies in her pre-delivery ultrasound scan 'It was really upsetting. I was so excited about seeing her but when they told me there might be a problem it was so scary.’ What made matters worse was the fact that Chloe also had an anterior placenta which forms on the front wall of the womb. This was the reason why she never even felt movement during pregnancy.

The condition of gastroschisis can occur in boys and mothers under 20 years of age. Chloe was also told that the chances of her baby being stillborn were higher at 39 weeks and four days and she would most probably be going into labor at 32 weeks. Thankfully little Ava the baby with organs outside her body survived this horrible ordeal and is now with her mom and dad fit and healthy.
