According to Ava’s mother Chloe 21, her organs growing outside her stomach looked like red blobs of flesh. They were even bigger than her. Doctors had decided to perform surgery to correct the anomaly although they also warned Chloe it would be a huge risk that could be fatal for the baby. That had left Chloe in tears but there were no options left. 'Of course, they had to tell me but it was really scary having to sign her life away just after she was born. Before the operation, Ava was wrapped in Clingfilm which is when the photos were taken of her. It was the cling film that had protected her from infection. Chloe never really wanted to see the photo as she felt heartbroken. Chloe was allowed to cuddle her baby for 5 seconds before doctors took her in for surgery.

Once the surgeons had inserted her organs back into her body successfully; Ava was put on oxygen as she even forgot how to breathe because of the morphine from the operation. Her intravenous had to be inserted through her head. After 14 days she was gradually introduced to milk. Ava spent 7 weeks in hospital and returned home to her family in June where she now stays safe and free from danger. Both her parents Chloe and Scott Nightingale 23 are happy and thankful she is alive.
