2Ally sets Meadow free and learns about her involvement in the cult

After a controversial cold opening, the episode takes us back to last week, as we see Meadow (Leslie Grossman) telling Ally about the cult and how everyone is in it before the kidnapper takes her down. It is then that Ally decides it is time to fight back. She goes across the street to set Meadow free and take her somewhere safe. They go to the restaurant; the only place Ally thinks it's safe. That is where Meadow opens up and proceeds to tell about her involvement in the cult. Being the person who was not able to find her place in the world, she became an easy target to charismatic cult leader Kai Anderson. We learn that Meadow was in love with Kai, as he never missed the chance to tell her how special she is.

But soon, everything fell apart because she learned that he said the same thing to Ivy. That is where Ally interrupts, expressing her disbelief about Ivy's involvement as Kai represents everything her wife hates. But more on Ivy later. Next, Ally takes Meadow to the only man she trusts. Unfortunately for her, that man is Dr. Rudy Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson), who just happens to be Kai's older brother. But of course, Ally doesn't know that, and she leaves Meadow with him and says she is going to be back in a couple of hours.

3Ivy's hate for Ally explained

In yet another flashback, Ivy is freaking out because she saw that Trump supporter she and Winter (Billie Lourd) tied in the basement with a severed arm. She thinks that they are going to jail because of it, but Winter assures her that everything is going to be okay and introduces her to her brother Kai. Then, after he asked her what fills her heart with dread, we learn that Ivy despises her wife much more than we initially thought. And it goes much deeper than the fact that Ally voted for Jill Stein.

As it turns out, Ivy hates Ally because she is their son's biological mother and Ally never missed a chance to rub that into Ivy's face by referring to Oz as "my baby." But we also learn that Ivy just wants the full custody. So Kai tells her that he will make sure no judge would ever grant Ally custody over Ozzy.
