Amazon Is Refunding Customers $70 Million for One Annoying Problem

3 Refunds on unauthorized purchases made between Nov 2011 –May 2016

This isn’t the first time a retail or techmajor has been sued for a huge amount in compensation. In 2014, Apple was also made to compensate $32.5 million in a similar settlement while Google was made to pay $19 million in settlements for unauthorized in app purchases. Since then the companies have made more stringent rules regarding such matters.

According to Thomas B Pahl, acting director of the FTC ‘s bureau of Consumer Protection, all Amazon customers will now be refunded for purchases made by their children without authorization which means Amazon is refunding $70 million in compensation.
