Researchers at Harvard University used the medical records and histories of 123,000 people to understand how a truly healthy lifestyle affects average lifespan. The study involved people who don't smoke and do regular exercise and maintain a wholesome lifestyle devoid of toxic habits. The study claims that people can follow five habits which will definitely lead to a healthier lifestyle and might add 10 years to your lifespan. So what are the things you must do?

The researchers kept a close look at people who followed the rules and at people who didn't go by them. People who have adopted these rules extended their average life expectancy from 26 to 38 years.

An author on the study, Meir Stampfer, revealed that when she and her team went deep into the research they thought they'd find some substantial results but what they found out was a total shock.

3You have to give up smoking

It’s very important to quit smoking if you want to live a long healthy life. The research confirms that people who were not serial smokers lived a healthier lifestyle and also suffered from lesser physical ailments. Dieticians state that fruits work best when taken as part of breakfast. This is not to say that you can't eat fruit any other time of the day but the active minerals in some fruits help with your digestion and metabolism throughout the day. The study states that your regular diet must be low on red meat.
