1 The easiest way to save your battery power

Choosing a simple dark background for your screen turns off the automatic pixel lighting. This will keep the device on charge for a longer period. Although this feature isn’t available for all Android devices, it has been implemented on most Samsung Smartphones and tablets.

2 Text-to-speech

If you have this feature in your Android phone, you can listen to this article rather than reading it. If you prefer hearing first hand information rather than reading it on your device, then go to settings-accessibility-turn on Text to speech output option.

3 Smartphone remote control

Go to settings-security-device administrator and check the options next to Android Device Manager. Remotely locate this Device and allow remote lock and erase now. If by chance you lose your Smartphone, you can even locate and block it without losing your data but you need to access this website:

4 Turning on Guest Mode

If your friend or a guest wants to use your phone you can oblige the person and protect your own privacy. Keep your data confidential with the Guest mode function. Swipe down from the top and touch the user icon in the upper right. The “add guest icon” will appear and you can then choose which actions the new user is allowed to take.

Those with poor eyesight can access this feature to magnify the screen. To access it you need to go to settings-accessibility-magnification gestures. Now you can zoom in on any part of your display by just a tap.

6 Hotspot mode

You won’t need a separate 3g modem or a router to use the internet on different devices. You can use your Smartphone instead. Go to settings-Tethering and hotspot-turn on portable WLAN hotspot and voila you have your own Wi-Fi.

Available from Android 2.3 Gingerbread version onwards is a secret game for users and present in every device. Finding it may be a bit complicated but not impossible. Go to settings-choose about phone-tap Android Version several times and when a marshmallow shows up on screen, tap it again and a special mini game appears just for you.
