The girl is only known by the name of Nariyana and lives with her family in Yakutia in Siberia, Russia. Her special features are that she is an albino. She has pure white hair, white skin and is the first albino from either sides of her family. She has been named ‘Snow White’ for her extremely fair complexion.

Albinism is a congenital defect in humans which is represented by lack or absence of the pigment in the skin, hair and eyes. People with this condition are more prone to sunburns and skin cancers. They are also more susceptible to vision defects such as photophobia, nystagmus, and amblyopia. The lack of melanin causes them to get sunburn more often and they have to resort to using sunscreen a lot. They have to be extra careful in daytime, while also suffering from vision problems. However, albinism isn’t known to be fatal at all.

Her mother Elena says, "We have already got many offers from modeling and advertising agencies but I don't want her to work yet. She likes dancing and drawing in her free time. When she grows up, she'll choose who she wants to be for herself. When I ask her now, she says she wants to be a model."

“She is the most unusual person I’ve met. " She is incredibly artistic and she spent two hours posing for me. From the second we met, we started talking like we knew each other. Her eyes don't like bright light, but, despite this, pictures came out brilliantly. I love them," photographer Vadim Rufov said.
