Ever since the Red Cross won the right to use the big red plus sign as its official symbol, the medical fraternity has gone back to using its oldest symbol of two snakes entangled around a staff. This symbol is made after a real staff that was supposed to have the powers to make any arguments solved. It is also called the Rod of Asclepius, who was the god of healing and has just one snake and non wings.
