There is a popular belief that a woman becomes complete after giving birth to a child. It is one of the most cherished dreams that a woman has. The feeling of motherhood is incomparable for a woman. More often than not, she is on cloud nine after giving birth to a child. But, it is really sad that many struggle to find this divine feeling. However, the medical advancements are trying to cover it up as they are now allowing many to attain motherhood.
In one such incident, a miracle baby has taken birth in recent past. The boy may look normal at first glance but the baby has actually won many hurdles to come into this world. The couple, Malin Stenberg and Claes Nilsson, is now over the moon with arrival of their baby boy. Malin Stenberg and Claes Nilsson are from Sweden. They were part of a pioneering project which actually made their dream of having child possible.
Almost a year ago, Stenberg made some sort of history by giving birth after womb transplant. The baby was aptly named Vincent which meant “conquer.” The birth of Vincent was very encouraging for medical professionals as they saw new hope in the advancement. Doctors are now attempting to help as many people they actually can.

37-year-old Malin Stenberg had already given up hope on giving birth to a child when she met her love Nilsson who was a former professional golfer. Stenberg suffered from Rokitansky syndrome. She did not have a womb. It was impractical for her to pursue dreams of having a child.
“I wasn’t ready to hear it, I couldn’t take it in. I thought that this means that I’ll never be able to carry a child of my own – but that is what women are made for. It felt so unfair. I loved kids and babies and I wanted to know what I had done to deserve this. I felt so alone,” said Stenberg.

But, Nilsson refused to accept the fact that he would never be a father. He had other things in his mind. Nilsson wanted to leave no stone unturned as he wanted to become a father at all cost. The couple wanted to have the child at all cost. They thought about surrogacy and adoption before going for a womb transplant. With great hope in their mind, they participated in a pioneering project taking place at Gothenburg University.

The project had nine women who had to undergo womb transplant. It was thought that they would get womb from women of higher age who did not require the womb. Most of the women got the womb from their mothers. But, Stenberg got the womb from a 61-year-old family friend, Ewa Rosen. The lady was like an angel for the couple. She donated her womb without any payment. She just wanted to help the couple.

Getting womb was just a small step towards becoming mother as many attempts had failed earlier. But, Stenberg had all kinds of positivity in her mind. She did not want to let negativity rule her. Stenberg further went for IVF treatment and became pregnant on first attempt.

During pregnancy, they took all the possible precautions in the world. Vincent was born two months prematurely. The baby has completed his first year and is now a healthy child. “Today it feels like we went from nothing at all to having this wonderful boy, it’s more than 100 percent. We are more than happy with this. I couldn’t wish for more,” said Stenberg.

After the success of Vincent, four more babies have born through the same process. It is a big hope for the other couples who are struggling to have babies across the world. The project’s success has been taken in positive stride and many countries are also now embarking on same kind of projects.
Stenberg and Nilsson are now having a great time as a family. Many had suggested them to go for another child but the couple does not want to take any chances. Stenberg has already removed her donated womb as second pregnancy could have been very dangerous for both mother and the child.
