Fans the world over have been patiently waiting for Wonder Woman and finally another great superhero flick will be making a worldwide premier this week. A larger treat in store is of course the incredible choice of the actress who plays the imposing Amazon. Gal Gadot has undergone a superb transformation to light up the screen in her latest avatar of Wonder Woman. Who would have thought this beautiful leggy and gorgeous gal was once a petite model.

1 She competed in The Miss s Universe Paegant of 2004 but never wanted to win

Yes!! She admitted that she never really entered to win but for the experience. She was scared that she may win again just like she did Miss Israel so she sabotaged herself by coming late for rehearsals and wearing evening gowns for breakfast. She also recalls Paula Abdul asking her a question "I even remember Paula Abdul, she was one of the judges there and she was asking me a question and I was like, 'I'm sorry, English not so good,' 'cause I just didn't want to have anything to do with that,'" she added.

However at 18, you can make out the difference. The fact that she has undergone rigorous training and workouts to achieve that fantastic toned figure of Wonder Woman is no less inspiring.

2 She is the second highest earning actress in Israel

In 2013 she was declared as the second highest actress and Model in Israel just behind Bar Rafeli. Gadot is the face of many large brands including Gucci’s. Bamboo perfume. She lost out a role in the James Bond Movie Quantum of Solace to Olga Kurylenko.

3 Did you notice her in the Fast and the Furious?

She acted as Giselle in three of the Fast and Furious Franchise. In 2008 she won the role of Giselle over six others in Fast and Furious Pt IV. She again appeared as Gisele in Fast and Furious 5 and 6.

4 She served two years in the Israeli Defense Forces

As part of the mandatory 2 years of service in the army for all residents, Gal Gadot also entered the army when she was just 20 and worked as a fitness instructor. In an interview she said "Part of being Israeli is to go to the army. All my friends went, my parents went and my grandparents went.”

5 She studied Law and International relations in University

Among the interesting facts about Gal Gadot is when a casting director who once approached her for a role thought she was too smart and serious too be an actress.

6 She loves motorbikes

The 5’ 9 “star loves motorbikes and even rides one in the F&F films. She also owns a Ducati Monster S2R and once posted a video of herself from Fast Five along with the caption “Riding the Ducati Streetfighter in the streets of Rio was more than AWESOME!”

7 She did know she was auditioning for Wonder Woman

Gadot only found out the character she was auditioning for after the initial tryout. Batman Vs Superman Director Zac Snyder then called her before her screen test and asked her if she knew who wonder woman was.

“I think I went dead for a few seconds, came back to life, and then tried to use my best voice to casually say, ‘Yeah,’ ” she told reporters at a press junket in L.A.

8 She is a wonder mom to two children

Yes! Gal Gadot is married to Israeli real estate developer Yarson Varsano. The couple married in 2008 and has two daughters Alma and Maya. She is pictured here with daughter Alma.

9 She did her own stunts in Fast and Furious

In all of her Fast and Furious movies, she did her own stunts. This was revealed by Gadot herself in an interview. “The adrenaline was just incredible and I enjoyed being able to do the stuff that in real life you can’t.”. She said she wanted to be a tough gal. “I want to have gunshots; I want to fly up in the air, on the motorcycle, whatever. I want to do it all, by myself — no stuntwoman.”

10 Military training was easier than Wonder Woman training says Gadot

One of the most amazing facts about Gal Gadot is that she trained for six months and six hours a day to get into shape as Princes Diana aka Wonder Woman. She would do two hours of gym work, two hours of fight choreography and two hours of horseback riding which she says was super hard. “When people used to tell me, “Yeah, I do sport, I ride horses,” I was like, “That’s not sport, the horse does everything.” But no! You’ll be surprised, it’s so painful.

Gadot was trained in Boxing and a variety of martial arts. She trained under Mark Twight and her gym sessions included cardio, bike, rowing machines, squats ball throws and pull ups.
