5 Manage your stress level

Elizabeth Blackburn, a Nobel Laureate, found out that the ends of your chromosomes, called telomeres, are what cause your cells to age. When your telomeres are short, you age faster. Since telomeres get shorter when you’re stressed all the time, it’s important to keep your stress levels in check.
One of the best ways to feel less stressed and more relaxed is to meditate. Meditation helps keeps the ends of the chromosomes from getting shorter by helping you release and manage stress. Sign up for a yoga class to learn how to let go of bad thoughts and stressful situations.

Getting enough sleep in the right way is very important. Experts say that the sleep you get between 11 PM and 3 AM helps you eat and heal, so you should go to bed at 11 PM or earlier. A person should get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep each night. You look and feel different when you don’t get enough sleep on a regular basis.
Researchers at Harvard Medical School found that people whose normal sleep time is less than 7 hours and who start going to bed an hour earlier have lower blood pressure. It helped lower the chance of having a heart attack or stroke.

7 Don’t drink alcohol

Alcohol dehydrates your body and skin. One drink a day for women and two for men won’t hurt your health, but much more than that will damage your skin. If you drink too much, you’re also less likely to eat healthy foods. So, do what’s best for your body and cut down on how much alcohol you drink.
