This Caladenia melanoma or Ballerina Orchid is named because the orchid looks like a ballerina performing in air. This orchid species is native to Western Australia and is single erect, hairy leaf and one or two cream-coloured to pale yellow flowers with red markings and black tips on the sepals and petals.

Calceolaria Uniflora or Darwin’s slipper flower is a mountainous flower and was discovered by Charles Darwin during his South American exploration. These flowers look like small yellow penguins on rocks and are a cool climate species.

Caleana Major or the flying duck orchid is a flower native from South Australia to Queensland. These flowers attract insects and bees in order to help in pollination. This flower was also featured on the 1986 Australian postage stamp.
